Warsaw

Gyms: CityFit

Multi-level, with multiple locations across the city and much more central than Platinum. The signup was somewhat trickier, but access is easier once you're through it.

Gyms: Platinum Fitness

Huge, but all on one level so it's easy to see everything. Multiple free-weights areas - some iron, some modern - and a sizable functional fitness station. A little out of the way but worth it.

London

Gyms: Gymbox· Shoreditch

Good day-pass gym. A little tight on space, but there's usually a live DJ, which covers a multitude of sins.

Gyms: TopNotch Gym· Soho

Good gym, a little out of the way and down a large ramp underground - trust the ramp and keep going.

Pacific Coast Highway, California

Gyms: Muscle Beach Gym· Venice Beach

The original outdoor gym on the sand. You can pay for a day pass at the kiosk nearby - do it once, for the story.

San Francisco, California

Gyms: FITNESS SF Embarcadero· Embarcadero

Good gym space for a relatively cheap day pass. The Embarcadero branch is fine - it does the job - but the Transbay one is the pick if you can get there.

Gyms: FITNESS SF Transbay· SoMa

The one by the Salesforce Tower, and it's very, very good - lots of equipment and plenty of space, all on a relatively cheap day pass. The pick of the FITNESS SF branches.
